PLANT SEEDS OF HOPE...
Go To America's Town Hall for Hope

(Editors Note) The following information is a series of updates about the Town Hall for Hope -- a national gathering in separate locations via live-stream video, designed to raise up citizens who are empowered to respond with knowledge to current economic conditions, rather than react with fear or worry.

UPDATE ON TOWN HALL FOR HOPE MEETING

05/05/09 The video of the entire Town Hall Meeting is now available for purchase from the townhallforhope.com website. I have ordered one so I can make a recommendation for the rest of you. I don't want, at this point, to encourage you or discourage from making that investment. Follow your own judgment and I'll respond after I have seen it. (I have no financial interest in the sales of these videos.)

04/24/09 The meeting took place on Thursday April 23, and apparently, many of us missed it. We may get a second chance.

What happened? While a million people attended the showing at select venues in their area, probably that many more had expected to be able to watch streaming video live on YouTube or the TownHall website. We were mistaken. I am not a spokesperson for this event. I just was passing on an opportunity I discovered. But allow me to apologize if I misled anyone by my lack of complete information.

The latest word is that Fox Business Network (FBN) plans to broadcast the entire meeting this weekend, possibly April 24 to 26, at various times. This may not happen on all TV service providers, but you can check the on-line listing at your cable company or go to FoxBusiness.com. At the top of their home page, click on "Channel Finder" and enter your zip code to see if your area will present the fulll video.

Don't you get tired of how difficult it is sometimes to find/get/afford/buy the things we seek? It's a pain. So, is it worth the trouble to try to view Town Hall for Hope? I would think so!

I checked around and discovered that FBN currently has a six minute video from the beginning of the meeting. In response to a question comparing our current economic problems to the Great Depression, Dave Ramsey puts things in perspective to exterminate fear and instill hope. This video message of hope needs to be heard by anyone concerned about the state of our economy.

The Town Hall for Hope website is suggesting that they may have other options for viewing the entire meeting, so you can check their site later. They do now have some info posted that was content from the meeting, just not the actual video. The home page is at townhallforhope.com

First time here? Wondering what this is all about? Here is the original message I offered introducing the Town Hall for Hope Meeting as a first installment to encourage people dealing with problems and uncertainty in their life:

Got Problems? Oh, yeah!

GOT HOPE?

America is a great country.... No, what I mean to say is... America is a country filled with great people... people like you... people like your neighbors.

America as a country has some problems, some serious issues to deal with. That fact can mess up your life. You might even get discouraged trying to cope with the consequences of America's problems.

Some of you may be confused or uncertain about where to turn. You may be tired and disheartened. But survival is a strong instinct. You want to believe that your struggles can be overcome. You are looking for a source of hope. You don't want to give up, You don't want to surrender.

Where do you get hope? How do you come up with the strength and resolve to keep on keepin' on? If your supply of hope is running on empty, then you grab hold of another person's hope, and hang on.

In the weeks and months ahead, I plan to offer you sources of Hope, glimpses of Hope, and Hope itself.

Here's the first installment:

Connect with families across the nation for a truly radical message: HOPE.

Tired of hearing the fear, doom and gloom that’s filling the airwaves? Join Dave Ramsey for a nationwide town hall meeting and discover what’s happening with the economy, how we got here, and where we’re going. Click on the image below or go to townhallforhope.com

The above notice is somewhat a public service announcement. But it’s more like a private invitation to join with some people who have decided to believe that things can be better. I don’t honestly know what it is going to offer, but tuning in is better than sitting alone with your worries.

In case you're wondering, Dave Ramsey is a well known financial issues guy. Not so much a financial adviser (although he does that). He's a graduate of the financial school of hard knocks. He advocates Financial Peace, as an alternative to financial prosperity.

Which one sounds appealing these days? (Be wise, not greedy!) It's pretty obvious these days, there is no such thing as guaranteed financial security. If you would like peace, and hope, give the Town Hall meeting a try. If you are unable to tune in, I'll plan to present a report on it the following week.

The Town Hall Talk is a one-time opportunity. Spread the word to friends and family. The url if you want to share it with others is http://www.townhallforhope.com

Join this free event April 23 at 8:00 p.m. EDT in one of the thousands of venues across the country as we stand together to reignite the fire of hope! Please note the date. It's a one time shot in the arm -- Thursday, April 23. Remember to check for the correct time in your time zone.

Come back again, and look for new additions to this segment. If you need hope, if you want to offer hope, I would like to be instrumental in having us all be good neighbors.

If you have a question or a contribution, use the current "contact me" form on the side bar. I will soon set up a separate contact form exclusively for Hope Topics. Maybe this will grow into a new website, hopefully.
